Lana is a Busy Little Bee

When I started this website before Lana was born, I thought to myself, "I'll be so on top of updating this site. I mean what else will I have to do?"

Obviously, I was clueless.  Lana keeps me busy all the time, and I absolutely LOVE  it.  Now, Emily and Tony are here for the first time in a month, and are bust adoring Lana so I can do some updating business.  They cannot get over how looonnnnggg Lana is.  I measured her with my Vera Bradley measuring tape today (which I am sure was oh so accurate), and she measured 24 inches long!  Last Sunday, when I THOUGHT I would post an update, Luke weighed her, and she was 9 pounds!  I am sure she has gained just since then.  She is just so long and skinny.  Her 0-3 month pants fall down, but are a great length, and her newborn pants fit pefectly around her tiny waist, but are highwaters.  I am thinking she is going to be built like her daddio.

On to Lana's busy social life. ;-)  Two Saturdays ago, Lana had her first quick trip with Luke and I to Starbucks, where we sat outside for a tiny bit to enjoy the weather. Last Tuesday, Lana and I got out of the house on our own for the first time to take Daddy lunch at work.  I was super nervous making the drive downtown with Lana in the back.  I thought I would avoid the interstate, so I drove under the speed limit on Meridian all the way there, and it literally took twice as long. Ha! I got smarter and braver for our drive home, and got on the highway.  Lana also had her first "play date" that evening when she and I went for a walk with Shelley (with whom I was Indy 500 princess) and her 3 month old daughter, Josie. Last Wednesday, Lana made her first visit to Jewelry Gallery to visit Mimi.  Lana picked out the biggest diamond ring in the store to put on layaway for 25 years.:-)  Actually, Lana was the prettiest thing in the store in my selfish opinion.  Saturday night was Lana's first visit to iTown church, and she slept through a fairly loud service like a trooper.  Then, Sunday was Poppy's 57th birthday, so to celebrate, we went to Carolina Grill in Zionsville.  For the first hour, we were the only people in there- perfect for Lana.  The funniest part of our outting was Lana's place setting at the table was complete with a kiddie menu and crayons.  Don't worry, we got a picture.  Over the last few weeks Lana has also had many visitors!  She has so many friends already.  :-)

We are super excited to have Auntie Em and Uncle Bone here from South Bend this weekend for Easter.  Mimi bought Lana her first Easter outfit.  I cannot wait to see her in it.

I'll post some pictures for everyone to see the adventures of Lana!
