While I stand in line at Handels to get ice cream (been standing here 15 minutes and probably have another 15 to wait), and Luke sits with little Lana in the car, I realize I have made like a billion typos on my posts. Sorry about all of those. Good thing the Handles wait has made me realize my stupidity, ;) Anywho, what I really got on here to say is Lana weighs 8 lbs 9.5 oz!! Holy cow, that's a whole lot of weight gained in a week and a half! Just when I was worried she wasn't getting enough milk from her mama, the cow. Guess I make a good cow. Yeah, Lana! I made it through the line, guess I'm out of time;)

Happy 2 Week Birthday, Lana Grace :-)
Today is Lana's two week birthday! :-) She has had a great week with many special visitors. Today, Grandma Patty and Mom came over and helped around the house, and adored Lana, which she never minds. Gracie and Shelby are starting to adjust to vistors' attention going straight to Lana too. Bless their little doggie hearts. We still love them too, but it's just not their world we are living in anymore.
This past Sunday, Lana got to meet her "Lechner" uncles and aunts for the first time as Lukes brothers, sister, and mom came to visit. It had been a long while since we had to cook anything with everyone being so gracious bringing over meals, but we made lunch for the Lechners and we discovered we had't lost our touch. ;-)
On another note, Auntie Em and Uncle Bone have made it their plan to move back here by this Fall! We wil be so excited to have them here.
Lana is just the best little baby in the world. She is so precious, and has the best little personality already.

First meeting with Dr. Martenson went well! :-)
We got to officially meet our pediatrician today, Dr. Martenson. Lana has surpassed her birth rate and is a whopping 7 lbs. 6.5 oz. now! The doctor was thrilled with this, and couldn't believe what a great little eater Lana is. :-) The doctor gave us permission today to take Lana on walks outside and to take her to "safe" places to visit. (I think a visit to Mimi and Poppy's house is in store!) So, tonight we took our first little family walk around the neighborhood. Shelby, Gracie, Luke, Lana, and I felt like a real Carmel suburban family. He he he.
On another note, yesterday was Lana's one week birthday, and Grandma Patty brought over cupcakes (along with her famous chicken salad and mac and cheese.) I know Lana can't enjoy them, but that doesn't mean we can't.
Until next time!

Baby Lana is here, and officially 5 days old
Our lives have been forever and beautifully changed! Lana Grace Lechner was born March 7, 2012 at 1:07 in the afternoon, and weighed 7 lbs. 5 oz. She was 21 and 3/4 inches long, and wide awake with her beautiful eyes open right away. She even started feeding within thirty minutes of being born. Smart little coookie she is.
While in the hospital, Lana had sooooo many visitors. In fact, I bet she set a record at Riverview Hospital. She has so many people that love her already. Since being home, we have had so many sweet visits from friends and family. Auntie Em stayed with us this weekend, and was such a great help. She did laundry, cleaned, made beds, helped with bathtime, took pictures, made food, got groceries, and loved on Lana. We really wish she lived closer. :-( Can't wait to see her again on Easter!
Lana is such a great little baby, and only cries if she is hungry or has stinky diaper. She eats like a champ, and in turn, poops like a champ. ;-) We went to her first pediatrician appointment today where she was triple checked for jaundice and reweighed. She is jaundice free, and has gone back up to 7 lbs. 2 oz. (When we left the hospital Friday afternoon, she was 6 lbs. 10.5 oz.)
Daddy goes back to work tomorrow, which makes us all sad. :-( I know little Lana and I will be just fine, but Daddy sure is a HUGE help and a fantastic daddy!!! He is so good at changing dirty diapers day and night, and can comfort Lana in a second. She sure loves her daddy, and knows his voice very well.
Nothing in life could ever compare to the miracle of Baby Lana. I am so glad God brought Luke into my life almost three years ago, and together, by the grace of God, we have been blessed with Lana Grace.

We are at the hospital! :)
Although we arrived to the hospital at our scheduled 7:00 induction time, we were told upon arrival, we would need to wait a few hours for induction because the labor and delivery unit was extremely busy. While at first a let down, it did give us time to settle in and relax a bit. Mom and Dad, Emily and Tony came to help pass the time. Finally, at 11:00, the first round of Cytotec was administered, and again just 30 minutes ago. Contractions have increased in intensity and frequency, so hopefully that means my body is gearing up to bring little Lana into the world sooner today, rather than later. ;) Luke is sound asleep on a cot half his size. Poor guy. He has, of course, just been so wonderful. We will be sure to post as soon as we can when Lana Grace arrives. :)
